Day 11-Saturday, May 1
It’s Derby Day! For several days we searched for fresh mint for mint juleps, but we struck out. Even restaurants don’t have any…it’s all Joe Biden’s fault!
Joni and I went for a bike ride this morning along the same route that I did yesterday. Eventhough it was Saturday, the traffic on the road and on the bike path was minimal.
After our ride, we picked up some barbecue from a family run food truck; another example of a restaurant ruined by the hurricane so the owners turned to a food truck to continue. The barbecue was for our dinner. For lunch we returned to the Sand Dollar for another great meal.
Our afternoon was spent on the deck; napping, reading, and watching dolphins.
Watched the Derby, sipped mint juleps(made with mint tea), and devoured our barbecue dinner.
